Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., criticized the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) on Wednesday, stating that it does not support American democracy.
In response, AIPAC condemned Ocasio-Cortez and other lawmakers who voted “no” on a House resolution reaffirming Israel’s right to self-defense. She asserted, “AIPAC endorsed numerous individuals involved in the January 6th insurrection. They do not support American democracy. Additionally, they are one of the more biased and prejudiced political action committees in Congress, with a disproportionate focus on members of color. They are an extremist organization that undermines U.S. democracy.”
